on fairy tales ~ The Forever Burning Fire

Lily has finished her first book! It's a fairy tale she calls The Forever Burning Fire. The text is just as she dictated it to me. My fingers could barely keep up with her storytelling, so she took frequent breaks to illustrate while I did my best to transcribe her words exactly as she spoke them.

This is what Lily has to say about her story:
It's hard to make and it inspires something about school. It lets kids know how important school really is. It's good to know.
Be sure to leave a comment to let Lily know what you think!

The Forever Burning Fire

Once upon a time, there was a land where every happy place was there.

And one day when Martha and her family was going camping, they did a fire. It was too much, but they accidentally had 8 sparks from the fire, which no one knew until later.

But then, when they were asleep, because the fire had 8 sparks, it freed the evil villain. He was the most evil villain, which no one ever liked at all. No one ever liked him except the other evil villains because they were evil – except when he farted.  All he did was very hard to stop. You had to start a new fairy tale or worship him and stop all fairy tales, which no one wanted.

Then, one little girl was born. She wasn't in any of the fairy tales, and that was good because she could make a new fairy tale. She was very young, younger than anyone else there. She was born from the wise goat herder, and also from Rapunzel.

She was kind of like a spirit, she could do anything. But she was good. There was no way to turn her evil. And then when she was three, she decided because it was so hot there (because of the forever burning fire), to find out why it was so hot. She was a curious little girl. Curioser than anybody ever will be and ever has been. She was the best girl in the place. She also stopped the bad endings so there were no bad endings (except the forever burning fire, because of course it couldn't be stopped yet).

When Martha and her family finally stopped camping and decided to put the fire out, they couldn't  That’s when they knew about the 8 sparks and they were all scared. Except the little girl. She was the only one who was studying in the place. She was studying because she knew it would help her learn and maybe she would find out why it was hot.

When the fairy tale makers made fairy tales and the place, they decided they needed to bury a book so people would know how to keep on building fairy tales, because of course there would need to be more. There’s also a way to stop bad guys. If you do the opposite, you stop all the good guys.  But if you’re not the forever burning fire, you have one by one by one by one, turning good people bad. If you’re the burning fire, you can do it when you need to or you want to.

But the girl was studying so much. She was also close to learning about how the forever burning fire could be stopped. But the evil villain is the one who started all the bad endings. And he ripped the one page out so the little girl couldn't find out. But he accidentally said she could find out where the first fire started. Then she found out about the forever burning fire, but she was not scared. If you’re scared, the forever burning fires can take over!

All the people were running, trying to hide the children. Most of the grown-ups were trying to keep the children from the forever burning fire. The children were hot and cold, but they had food and shelter and water, so that was a good thing. They also had a fire that for sure was made with one spark. They were safe. They had cool water to keep them cool from the forever burning fire, so they were happy.

When the girl found the first fire place, she digged like 1,001 feet. But she found the picture and read it. To stop the forever burning fire, you must go to where it was started. You must find him, and if you can make a new fairy tale, you may be able to stop the villain. His name is The Forever Burning Fire.

So you must make a new fairy tale, and this is how you do it. First, you think it. Then, you write it in the book. Then someone has to read it. And only the person who believes that all fairy tales are true must read it. And if someone else reads it, then the forever burning fire will take over and all fairy tales will be gone. Forever!

But the little girl got one of the hugest books and wrote it. And then, the girl who believed in fairy tales more than anyone in the world (her name is Molly) read it. Then the forever burning fire was gone, and the little girl who was born was sure what to do. She destroyed that fire place, where he could get out. But good thing the girl did it. Then the girl became princess and they lived happily ever after. The End.

  2. I love it, Lily! I can really hear in my head you telling the story. My favorite line was "she was a curious little girl. Curioser than anybody ever will be and ever has been." You really kept my interest with how she was going to put out that fire!
